What is the "Borrowed Notes Music Library?"

The BNML is a muisc library formed in 2011 to provide music at nominal cost for use by community music groups, educational musical organizations, and similar organizations.

It is currently being organized and should be publically available for new members in early 2012.

Why?

A group of like-minded volunteers realized that they were providing music to their individual musical organizations and sharing them on a regular basis. The realization was made that this procedure could be formalized and expanded, allowed cash-strapped groups to pool their resources.

How?

The initial proposal is modelled on other existing libraries. Annual membership will be made available for a nominal fee, and then individual charts can then be checked out and used for performance.

In lieu of membership fees, donated charts will accrue credits that can be used for future rentals.

That's what we are thinking anyway.
